LG on Monday night announced the G3 Stylus, a 5.5-inch pen-based smartphone designed to offer an alternative phablet to Samsung’s Galaxy Note.
The G3 Stylus is not LG’s first effort at a phablet — it had the oddly shaped Optimus Vu a couple years back. However, the new model is designed to be more credible, based on the well-received G3. It will start shipping in September in Brazil, followed by countries in Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
The company did not offer pricing or any details on potential U.S. availability.
Samsung plans to show off its latest Galaxy Note at a Sept. 3 event in New York.
