News Brief

Google Chromebook Pixel LTE buyers were promised two years of free integrated data from Verizon Wireless. Sure, it was just a starter package of 100 MB per month. But a year later, Verizon and Google seem to have scrubbed all mention of the program, and cut off free data for existing Pixel owners. After Computerworld reported on the issue today, an opportunistic law firm has already put out a press release saying it’s investigating the situation. Google and Verizon did not immediately provide comment.

Hint: Chromebook is a service, not a product.  The providers can change the terms of the offering without any advance notice.  Wouldn't have been a problem were Chromebook not cloud-dependent.  This is Verizon's and Google's business model.  Caveat emptor.
