As promised, we’re starting to post the full videos of interviews from the recent Code Conference.

A new video of one of the many stellar speakers for the event, which took place two weeks ago in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., will go up every day. (You can see a compilation video of the speakers here.)

As leader of one of the biggest retailers in the world, Walmart CEO Doug McMillon is in charge of a lot of firepower. That said, the company has still struggled with its online strategy for a long time, even as it faces ever more massive competition from online giant Amazon.

In one of his first public appearances as the new head of Walmart, the longtime company veteran talked about why physical retail is still important, though the size and function of brick-and-mortar stores would surely change. But he also noted that digital platforms and sales channels will become increasingly important and that Walmart — which owns digital companies like video-on-demand service Vudu — needs to step up its game.

Just not using drones, the affable McMillon noted at the start, which was a mediagenic gimmick that Amazon showed off earlier this year.
