News Brief

If you only use your Xbox for Netflix and Hulu, bookmark this. Microsoft said today that, once it stops making Xbox 360 and Xbox One owners pay for access to media apps in June, those nongamers will be entitled to a partial refund of their Xbox Live Gold subscriptions. Subscribers who contact Xbox support to cancel after the changeover but before the end of August 2014 will receive prorated partial refunds, which will “require six to eight weeks for processing.”

a) I'm not a gamer and b) I'm not inclinced to pay more than $100 for any app console, but doesn't this help the used Xbox market?

If you bought Gold just for Netflix, you're a loser in my book.  I bought Gold for gaming, and will keep it thanks.
