News Brief

If the sleep/wake button on your iPhone 5 is acting wonky, Apple may fix it for free. The company said it discovered the sleep/wake button on a small percentage of iPhone 5 models manufactured through March 2013 “may stop working or work intermittently.” If you’re experiencing problems and meet the qualifications, Apple will replace the button for free. The replacement program is live in the U.S. and Canada starting today, and will open up to other countries on May 2. You can check for eligibility and instructions on Apple’s support site here.

This is definitely not a new problem. It's unfortunate that Apple is only now deciding to acknowledge this issue and take responsibility. What about the older models that have the same issue and have caused people to upgrade or purchase new phones as a result?

I might just have to believe in the Apple magic. My sleep/wake button started having issues last Saturday, this Saturday a recall.
