News Brief

New York City-based ShopKeep, which sells point-of-sale software that runs on iPads, has nabbed a big $25 million Series C investment led by Thayer Street Partners. The company says it has 10,000 small-business customers in the U.S. and Canada that pay $49 a month for each iPad-based register they have running the retail checkout software. ShopKeep, which was founded by a former shop owner and has now raised more than $37 million in investment, doesn’t take a cut of transactions.
