News Brief

Meredith Attwell Baker, NBCUniversal’s top Washington lobbyist, has been named the new chief of CTIA, the wireless industry’s trade association. Baker, a former Republican FCC commissioner (and daughter-in-law of former Secretary of State James Baker), drew significant flak back in 2011 when she joined NBC* just a few months after voting in favor of Comcast’s acquisition of the network.

* NBCUniversal is an investor in Revere Digital, Re/Code’s parent company.
