HBO just released a series of truly painful (and hysterical) ads to encourage millennials to use HBO Go, which allows a subscriber to watch shows on the premium cable network on mobile devices.

You know, instead of having to watch that umpteenth sex scene from “Girls” with your mom sitting next to you.

Or worse, having to explain who is up and who is down in Westeros in “Game of Thrones.”

I just don't quite get why I would pay Dish Network for the right to have HBO on my Dish receivers if I'm never actually going to watch the shows on my Dish receivers, but rather watch them on my tablet or phone. Why not just sell me a subscription to HBO GO for my mobile devices and leave the satellite companies out of the picture completely?
