News Brief

Sprint, which already sells prepaid service under the Boost Mobile and Virgin brands, said on Friday that it will start offering a third option. Sprint Prepaid, as the new service is known, will offer high-speed LTE service starting at $45 per month for unlimited talk and text and $60 per month for unlimited talk, text and data.

Why would 1 company need 3 prepaid brands? I think the move to introduce the Sprint Prepaid name now lets them drop the Boost Mobile branding in 6 months or so and when the Virgin Mobile branding next comes up for renewal they have a fall-back position if they feel the Virgin name will cost them too much.
