News Brief

Arizona governor Jan Brewer has vetoed a bill that would have made it legal for business owners to refuse to serve gay customers on religious grounds, saying such legislation would not benefit the state. Indeed not, as numerous public figures and companies, including Apple, urged a veto. Apple is well known for taking pro-gay stances. It also has some additional clout here, since the company plans on opening a major new plant to produce sapphire materials in Arizona.

As someone living in Colorado, I really wanted Jan Brewer to sign the bill into law.

We would welcome businesses moving to Colorado.
