News Brief

Apple on Tuesday released an incremental update to its OS X operating system and along with it a patch for the critical SSL-related vulnerability that’s preoccupied the security community for the past few days. Dubbed “Gotofail,” the flaw could be exploited by an attacker to bypass the standard “SSL/TLS” security verification protocols used for encrypted communications online. If you’re a Mac user, you should download this update immediately. You’ll find it under the “Updates” tab in the Mac App Store.

The OS/X fix came 93 hours after iOS was fixed per hasgotofailbeenfixedyet.com
I'd say that's 20-30 hours more than I expected to be waiting.

Did anyone have an issue using the App Store last night about 10:45 PM Eastern? I have a screenshot showing 10.9.2 as both installed in the last 30 days AND as an available update (see pic.twitter.com/UdEkquy2KM).
