The Vietnamese creator of instant hit game Flappy Bird said on Twitter on Saturday that he plans to pull the game from the App Store and Google Play.

“I am sorry ‘Flappy Bird’ users, 22 hours from now, I will take ‘Flappy Bird’ down,” Dong Nguyen said in a tweet. “I cannot take this anymore.”

Nguyen did not immediately return an email seeking comment.

Earlier, Nguyen bemoaned the problems caused by the game’s popularity, as well as complaints that it borrows too heavily from the design and play of other games.

“I can call ‘Flappy Bird’ is a success of mine,” he said on Twitter. “But it also ruins my simple life. So now I hate it.”

Flappy Bird debuted in the App Store last year, but gained huge popularity in recent days following this report on BuzzFeed, and a flurry of articles that have followed.
