Nanea Reeves, who joined YouTube network Machinima as its COO and was most recently head of its product team, has left the company and will become president of messaging service textPlus.

Reeves joined Machinima in March 2012 and was supposed to help it build new outlets outside of YouTube. That’s still a work in progress, though she did help the video network create a presence on places like Microsoft’s Xbox 360. Last fall she got a new, lengthy title — chief product & technology officer/EVP direct-to-consumer — around the same time that the company named Stephen Semprevivo as its president and general manager.

Meanwhile, Machinima is shuffling other positions and executives. For starters, its CEO and founder Allen DeBevoise is looking for a replacement, and his brother and nephew have left the company. Machinima also went through two rounds of job cuts last year, and has yet to close a funding round it had said it planned to finish by the end of 2013.

TextPlus, based just south of Los Angeles, offers free and cheap texting and voice calls. It has raised a reported $46 million from investors including Kleiner Perkins, Matrix Partners, Upfront Ventures and the Raine Group.
