Jon Stewart does perhaps the most perfect skewering of Fox loud-talker Sean Hannity, trying to help him with options after New York governor Andrew Cuomo pondered out loud that New York might not be a good place for loud-talking right-wing conservatives to be.

Not surprisingly, Hannity loud-talked about it for days and days on cable: “Why should I move forward when my governor says there’s no place for me in New York?”

Noted Stewart perfectly, listing all the means of transport from the state:

“It’s not East Germany, you can get out any time,” he said, pointing out that Hannity preferred instead to take “the grievance train to victim town, which is really the only public transportation he has been on.”

But then he followed up with this musical gem topper to convince Hannity to stay:

I come to re/code for tech news. I go elsewhere for political views. Please keep the politics out of here.

I want a tech site, not a political site. The two can mix, but the tech contribution is minimal in this column. I am trying to assess whether to continue with Re/Code. I go to other sites for politics. I am considering this site for tech.

Kara, my mistake. I thought that this was a technology news site. Had I known that it was a personal political views site I would not have signed up. You all did an awesome job in your last position and I looked forward to following you in your new endeavors. So sad... I am out of here.

@CGJ @jharvey

CGJ--How much time did you spend searching for that clip given it was from 4 years ago?  Must be a slow day in the cubicle, eh?

You can assume people like @jharvey make their statements because of political affiliation, and then go on to your usual "blah blah conservative blah blah Fox".  But you miss the point at least as I saw it from Joe's post:  I don't care what the politics of the writers are, I want a news site, not a puff site.  I have the same issue with Business Insider.  For all the fancy graphs and data mash-ups Blodget bores us with, maybe he should create one showing the small percentage of articles on that site that actually have anything to do with Business.

I don't really get cult of Kara.  Love the reporting and business/tech-related stories.  But I think this site is boring and definitely over-self-hyped.  Will be interesting to see where the readers take it.
